So right now I'm working nights on the rig. This has certain advantages such as:

-Less annoying office bullshit: Everyone who works in the office is too busy sleeping to annoy me

-No HughesNet bandwidth cap after 1am: Watch all the netflix!

But the biggest one is this: my time off is during the day! Whats the advantage to this? There are awesome things I can go do during the day, most notably TRACKTIME!

That's right people, in my time off I plan to go track my car. Last week I was exposed to the awesomeness that is !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Tomorrow I plan to go back and make my membership official, and get some sweet sweet driving in as well.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Current gameplan:

6am - Go right to sleep

11:30am - Wake up, shower etc

Noon - On road to Harris Hill

1:30pm - Arrive at Harris Hill

1:30pm-3:30pm - Hoonage

5pm - Back on Rig

5:30pm - Back to work :(

Then repeat?

I'm still doing nights here at the Shell office. The first well we had to P/A, so we are going super slow with this one. Also, I hadn't seen that Harris Hill post. That is sick. And by reciprocal memberships to both MSR's does that mean you are basically a member there? If so that is mighty tempting. Do you get to bring a guest to a member track day for a fee? If so we should be friends. And then you can stay at my place when you want to drive MSR Houston.

What's up my Blue-blood brother?

What's your segment? I am in WIS- Coiled Tubing. Just finished a 10-day job on a rig here in Iraq.

Enjoy the time off for the rest of us. Cheers.

I'm D&M in South Texas. I don't envy your Iraq assignment. I got offered a job in Iraq by a headhunter once, except she called it "Kurdistan." Not fooling me!

I'm not exactly sure how the reciprocal membership works, I think you're supposed to call MSR in advance and let them know you're coming and then you pay some sort of fee. But you still get to drive on their member days, which is nice. At HHR guests who don't drive are free, guests who do drive have to pay a fee, but if you go on a slow day I got the feeling they'd look the other way.

Our safety guys would have a shit fit rigged up that close to the overhead!

Just fill the "purpose of this trip" box with "Because Racecar." That ought to do it.

Oh, side question. I am looking at Focus ST's. Did you go through the X-Plan discount program?

It looks like a pretty good way to get a couple grand off the cost of the car, as it is eligible.

It's a permanent training rig if that makes any difference. This is my feeling about safety guys:

Post up here if you join up and ever feel like having someone tag along. I would love to check out that course sometime. I'm going to go look into their HPDE stuff right now.

Nice man.

Yeah South Iraq (where I am) is shitty, but Kurdistan (in the north) is surprisingly nice. Whole different culture there. Unfortunately the whole country is going to shit again, so time to leave anyways haha

Working nights is equal parts awesome and annoying. Actually, that's just what I've heard. I like working nights. When I used to freelance, I did 80% of my work between 9pm and 5am. Got lots of other stuff done during the day too.

I can do this too, working the morning shift :P

7pm - go to sleep

2-3 am - wake up

330-4 am- work starts

830-9 am- get off work

9am-7pm - do anything I want

Yep - that's pretty much it. Pay the daily/session fees for either MSR, then run on their member days.

That was the only good thing about being unemployed after college: pass out on H2R's couch, wake up, run laps, apply for a couple jobs, hoon car, get burrito, tinker with LeMons car, hoon some more. Hahahahahahaaaa.

(Other than this, it sucked, but...)

I have the sneaking suspicious that I'm going to end up spending quite a bit of time at H2R when I'm not on the rig...
